According to the front cover of The Leader, Fredonia’s bus system was just being introduced. They used a regular yellow school bus at the time, rather than the coach buses we have nowadays.
The article calls this “the best example of total student and community cooperation that this area has experienced in a long time.”
The BJ’s ads never fail to catch my attention.
The sports section featured a basketball photo page. I really appreciate the sarcastic cutlines. (click to enlarge images)
There was an advertisement for a study abroad cruise, which is still around today!

Apparently McDonald’s milkshakes used to be available without a prescription. I can’t imagine what that must have been like! The regulations on milkshake distribution have gotten so ridiculous over the years.
They even included a straw at no extra cost! Those were the days…
